Wup Going To The Asian Games Under Qabil Ambak

The NRPS-approved breeding stallion and international dressage horse Wup (Welt Hit II x Wolfgang) will compete at the Asian Games in Guangzhou (China) in November 2010. He is leased by Qabil Ambak from Malaysia.


Wup is internationally known for his results under his rider Joyce Heuitink from The Netherlands. He was second in the Dutch National Championships (Prix St.George / Intermediaire I) in June 2010. The nine year old dark bay stallion was placed at all the international shows this year. 
Qabil Ambak was the team silver and individual bronze medal winner in dressage at the Asian Games in 2006 Doha (Qatar). Back then and also this year, he will not only compete in dressage, but also in show jumping. He is the only rider at the Asian Games who competes in two disciplines. 


Qabil Ambak and Wup are trained by Joyce Heuitink at Anky van Grunsven’s Education Center in Erp, The Netherlands. Heuitink will also accompany the pair as trainer at the Asian Games. 

The dressage event at the Asian Games will start on the 14th of November. Before that all dressage horses go in quarantine from 31st of October until the 8th of November in Aachen, Germany. On the 8th all horses will fly to Guangzhou from Brussels Airport. After the Asian Games, Wup will return to Erp and will be trained and continue competing again by Joyce Heuitink.
