Second gold medal for Madeleine Witte!

After winning the gold in the Small Tour, today Anky van Grunsven's student Madeleine Witte-Vrees also won the gold medal in the Dutch National Winter Championships in the Big Tour. She won both the Grand Prix and the Freestyle aboard MacRider Vontango B (Contango x Jazz).

It became a good quality championship with good tests from several riders. Unfortunately riders like Hans Peter Minderhoud with Whitney van het Genthof, a student of Sjef, only rode in the Grand Prix. He scored almost 70%, which was good for a third place.

Judge Eddie de Wolff van Westerrode was very enthusiastic about the winning pair. "Vontango stayed good in the contact, showed a clear walk, trot and canter and expecially the piaffe and passage showed power. The horse stayed relaxed in both tests."
Also about Stephanie Peters' rides De Wolff van Westerrode was happy. "A nice and open frame. Stephanie did not get more than the bronze, probably because her horse showed a bit less quality in the paces than the other two horses".

Madeleine Witte was on cloud number nine with her second gold medal in two days and the fourth gold for Vontango. "This was only our fourth show at this level and the lack of experience caused some little errors in the test. I made a small mistake in the canter zigzag. The piaffe felt really good, just like the pirouettes and the tempi changes", says Madeleine, who will now compete Contango in the Olympic qualifiers "I think it's not impossible to make it to the team, so I now fully focus on that".

Vitana V of ANKY Technical Casuals ambassador Stephanie Peters is a ten year old daughter of Donnerhall, who first brought two foals and then was trained to become a dressage star. "She is highly talented with a lot of quality, who worked towards this level in only two years time. We need more show experience to develop further. I am very happy with the general improvement that Vitana V makes", says Peters.
