Meet Chris Von Martels Who Trains At The AEC

Published on 1 November 2010

Chris has been riding in dressage for more then 15years and now owns his own business, selling horses and training in North America. Chris’s wife Lisa also rides.

“My father is Dutch, so I have a lot of family here, so a big and lovely network of people”, explained Chris

Chris’s career so far would have to be competing at Grand Prix in Kentucky at the beginning of 2010. Where he declared for the World Equestrian Games. He was also given the opportunity to ride a wonderful mare.

“ Having a sponsor that believed I could do it was a great feeling! I also got my 1st 70% at Grand Prix which was great.”

Chris has come to the Anky Education Center with one horse – Tiesto a 10-year-old KWPN Jazz gelding. Planning to stay here and train with Anky for as long as he needs to.

With a goal to ride at the 2012 Olympics, Chris came to the Anky Education Center because he feels to be the best you need to be in the company of the best –EVERYDAY.  “Here at the AEC is where that can happen.”

“I have learnt from my training here that what you do everyday becomes your performance, you must be consistent. What you practise is what you make permanent.”

We wish the best of luck to Chris and his horse Tiesto
