Jorinde Verwimp in Belgium team Europeans

The Belgium Championships were held last weekend. It was the last qualifier for the European Championships in Aachen, which start at the 10th of August. Jorinde Verwimp took part with her super horse Tiamo (by Lester).

At the first day there was a third place for Jorinde and Tiamo in the Grand Prix class. They scored 70.88%, the difference between the number one and Jorinde was just one percent. On Friday was the Grand Prix Special, this time there was a second place for Jorinde with a score of 71.33%. The pair improved every day at the Belgium Championships. The freestyle was on Saturday and Jorinde and Tiamo rode their new kür for the first time. They did a good job and scored 74.85%. The difference with Jeroen Devroe was just 0.25% higher, Jorinde took the lead in the kür. Overall she took the Silver medal at her first senior Belgium Championships!

Jorinde was also successful with her two other horses. With Abel she won the Bronz medal in the Bronz Cup and with Arie Sollenburg she won the Silver medal in the Silver Cup.

Following the Belgian Championships, chef d'equipe Jeroen van Lent and team trainer Sjef Janssen announced the team that will represent Belgium at the European Championships in Aachen. The following team is selected:
- Jeroen Devroe with Eres DL (by Sir Lui)
- Jorinde Verwimp with Tiamo (by Lester)
- Fanny Verliefden with Annarico (by Lord Loxley)
- Laurence Vanommeslaghe with Avex Plaisir (by A Jungle Prince)

Two riders have been selected as reserve:
- Delphine Meiresonne with Wispy van 't Heihof (by Flemmingh)
- Claudia Fassaert with Donnerfee (by De Niro)
They will participate in the training camp after which the final reserve combination will be announced. Jorinde Verwimp:"I look forward to the European Championships and I'm really excited to participate at my first senior EC!"
