Gribaldi passed away

Published on 14 February 2010

Today, only nine days after his unforgettable and emotional retirement from the show ring was celebrated at the KWPN Stallion Show in Den Bosch, the preferent stallion Gribaldi passed away. The following statement was posted on Edward Gal's website:

"With great pain and sadness in our hearts, we said goodbye to Gribaldi today. A ruptured aorta proved fatal for him. His veterinarian was unable to save him.
We can't believe that his happened to you. You'll be in our hearts forever. Rest peacefully, dear Gribaldi.'"

The black Trakehner stallion Gribaldi was a very successful international Grand Prix dressage competitor. His offspring are following in his footsteps, the best of which is the dressage phenomenon and KWPN-recognized stallion Moorland's Totilas. Gribaldi offspring also excel in the mare inspections. Of his 707 mares registered in the Studbook, 332 hold at least the ster predicate, a very high 46%. Gribaldi has also proven himself in the sire line with the previously mentioned Totilas, the Grand Prix stallion IPS Painted Black, and Bodyguard, who was approved earlier this year.
